Background

In 2017, the Queen Rania Foundation launched its first free mobile application in Arabic, 'Karim & Jana - Numbers', with the aim of improving children’s (ages 3-6) numeracy skills. The application was hugely successful with over 330,000 downloads, 3.5 million sessions and 90% of users returning in the space of 3 months after its launch. It received positive feedback from parents and children. In April 2019, QRF launched its second application 'Karim and Jana - Our World' with a focus on socio-emotional skills reaching over 100,000 downloads with users spending an average of 26 minutes per session. Capitalizing on this success, our expertise in early childhood education, and based on demand from parents we are introducing a new mobile application that focuses on literacy skills.

Alphabet Journey is a free, fun and educational app filled with games, stories and songs that focus on early literacy skills including alphabet knowledge and phonemic awareness. Children can learn to read and write the Arabic letters, the app is designed for toddlers, preschoolers, kindergartners and first graders, and developed in collaboration with early childhood experts and Arabic language specialists.
