Quantitative Research Specialist - Research and Evidence

Main Job Purpose: 

QRF bases its goals, strategy, and programs on evidence. As such, the Foundation works to generate robust data that can be utilized internally and by stakeholders alike to make decisions based on evidence, need, and reality on the ground.

The Quantitative Analysis and Research function is responsible for supporting the RPD in generating such evidence.

The Quantitative Research stream facilitates RPD’s research efforts by providing technical leadership and oversight on all of QRF’s quantitative research and analysis efforts, including the development of research proposals, generating research questions for studies, identifying the design and research of studies, developing methodology documents, conducting advanced analysis on data, discussing findings with the wider QRF team and local and international stakeholders, reporting on the data and identifying policy recommendations from the findings, in addition to building the capacity of the wider RPD team in quantitative research and analysis.

Main Roles and Responsibilities: 

Strategic Planning

  • Contribute to the setting of the department’s annual OKRs and link them with personal deliverables
  • Contribute to the setting of the department’s annual budget and ensure that work is being executed according to the approved budget
  • Contribute to the setting of the department’s operational Policies & Processes and ensure proper implementation of the same
  • Prepare reports and documents as required by the direct manager
  • Commit to the implementation of the personal learning and development plan agreed upon with the direct manager

Technical Role

  • Perform descriptive and inferential statistics on primary and secondary data, in addition to performing advanced statistical techniques on data
  • Build the capacity of other team members in quantitative research and analysis
  • Provide technical leadership, oversight, and support on quantitative research, analysis, sampling, weighting, and design, in addition to day-to-day problem solving
  • Provide leadership and oversight on research methods used for studies at QRF
  • Transforming raw data into meaningful findings
  • Developing policy recommendations based on findings from primary and secondary research and analysis
  • Desk research to understand education and policy contexts nationally and internationally
  • Visualizing data and findings for a variety of audiences
  • Liaise with data collection vendors on research efforts
  • Management of data collection activities
  • Reporting on findings in briefs or reports for multiple audiences
  • Disseminating the findings of QRF’s research to a variety of audiences
  • Quality assure outputs produced for QRF by third parties
  • Quality assure quantitative research outputs developed by other team members at QRF
  • Develop high-quality data collection instruments
  • Support in the development research proposals
  • Adhering to ethical procedures throughout the research process

Job Qualifications: 

  • Min of 5 years of experience in a relevant field
  • Prior NGO experience is preferable
  • A Master’s degree is an advantage
  • Completion of a quantitative-based university thesis is an advantage
  • Proficiency in statistical software, such as SPSS, R, or Stata

Languages: 

  • Fluent in spoken and written Arabic
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English
