Content and Product Management Specialist

Main Job Purpose: 

The Learning at Home Stream aims to prepare children to become fluent readers in Arabic when they enter school by working closely with parents of children aged 0-5 to create Literacy Rich Home Learning Environments (LR-HLEs). There are 3 pillars within the home stream a) parent training b) Parent and child resources c) behavior change campaigns. This role will focus on leading the work within the parent and child resources pillar, which includes digital products like the Karim and Jana app series.

QRF is an evidence-driven organization that focuses on achieving outcomes based on the science of Arabic literacy, audience insights, and strong monitoring, evaluation, and learning. At the core of all our children’s products is to make learning Arabic fun. As a CPM specialist, you will lead research & design, contribute to the stream’s vision and the direction of all resources, apply project management for development principles, contribute to MEL plans and contribute to building partnerships and relationships to advance the work QRF does.

Main Roles and Responsibilities

Strategic Planning:

  • Contribute to the setting of the department’s annual OKRs and link them with personal deliverables
  • Contribute to the setting of the department’s annual budget and ensure that work is being executed according to the approved budget
  • Contribute to the setting of the department’s operational Policies & Processes and ensure proper implementation of the same
  • Prepare reports and documents as required by the direct manager
  • Commit to the implementation of the personal learning and development plan agreed upon with the direct manager

Technical: 

  • Research & Design to contribute to the overall direction of the resources pillar in addition to conducting market research that outlines problems, opportunities, and solutions for particular products in the pipeline
  • Follow trends in media, discussion boards, and other online tools that are relevant to our users and effectively identify opportunities to deepen the impact of our products
  • Project Management for Development, including applying processes and tools to ensure project success
  • Manage stakeholders to achieve results e.g. align, gather, document, and communicate critical information to cross-functional teams
  • Perform user acceptance and QA testing
  • Coordination with internal and external team members to determine the scope of digital products functionality and change requirements
  • Games design- UX/UI and work closely with UX/UI designer to create and update UI mockups (includes occasionally creating wireframes to capture detailed requirements)
  • Create user stories, maintain the product backlog and contribute to the product roadmap
  • Develop project budgets according to the Project Management Office and Finance departments templates and deadlines
  • Identify, communicate and resolve problems creatively and in a timely manner at the project and pillar level
  • Work closely with the learning at home stream manager to set the vision for the resources pillar of the learning at the home stream, adapting it based on new evidence, trends and lessons learned
  • Basic knowledge in early childhood education, particularly emergent literacy skills
  • Lead others, motivate, inspire, guide, and build skills of subordinates particularly in product and content management
  • Draft and finalize procurement, ToRs, and contracts based on project needs and QRF policies and standards

Job Communication

Internal:

  • Learning at Home Stream: Align with other project team members and manager on stream roadmap and activities. Effectively manage, inspire and lead subordinates to maximize their potential and make a difference to the quality of Arabic learning resources
  • Marketing and communications team:  Coordinate with the team on all marketing and communication material and align on all activities and deliverables
  • Monitoring and Evaluation team: Effectively contribute to setting evaluation questions, logical framework, and other M&E documents related to the resources pillar of the Learning at Home Stream
  • Strategic Operations and planning team: Effectively contribute to setting and reporting on organization-level objectives related to the resources pillar of the home stream
  • Project Management Office: Adhere to the Project Management process, tools and documents. Contribute to quarterly reporting
  • Strategic Partnerships and Fundraising: Effectively communicate the vision, roadmap, and work QRF is doing to improve Arabic literacy resources, contribute to drafting proposals, and reporting on progress where needed.
  • Finance Department 

External:

  • Vendors: Daily coordination with developers, designers, and QA teams
  • Consultants: Coordination with consultants and review of deliverables
  • Donors and potential partners: Build relationships, communicate the stream’s work persuasively, and report on success, learning, and opportunities for deepening impact

Job Qualifications: 

Education Level: Bachelor’s in business, media management, social sciences, or any other relevant field.

Years of experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience in a related field. Prior NGO experience is preferable 

Languages: 

Arabic: Fluent (writing, speaking) 

English: proficiency in English written and spoken
